1. Renewable energy policy, economics and financing,
2. Solar thermal power plant design, performance, simulation and optimization,
3. Optical materials, coatings, solar mirror manufacture and characterization ,
4. Solar refrigeration and air-conditioning technologies,
5. Smart and micro-grids,
6. Low cost electronic access device design and testing System on a chip and allied VLSI design,
7. Information and communication technology in Health,
8. Wireless sensor networks,
9. Smart mobility (such as electric, hybrid and solar vehicles),
10. Smart homes and health monitoring of buildings,
11. Studies in Public Policy for ICT

Faculty Positions
Associate Professor
Pay Scale: Minimum pay of Rs. 42,800 in PB-4 of Rs.37,400 – 67,000 plus AGP of Rs. 9,500/-In PB4 : 37,000 – 67,000 + AGP 9,500

Assistant Professor
Pay Scale: Minimum pay Rs 30,000 in PB3:15,600 - 39,100 with + AGP Rs 8,000 and other allowances. On completion of 3 years of service as Assistant Professor, shall move to PB4: Rs.37,400 – 67,000 with AGP Rs.9,000

Research Positions
Project Officer
Pay: Rs.70,000 per month Consolidated

Associate Project Officer
Pay : Rs.50,000 per month Consolidated

Assistant Project Officer
Pay : Rs.35,000 per month Consolidated
